Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band

It was the year 1997 when DJ Ralph Myerz asked people to play drums & percussion with him during a party in Bergen, Norway. The Jack Herren Band showed up through a combination of mutual contacts and high school friendship.

Supposedly a one-time event, the audience DEMANDED more – and they had so much fun playing together that they decided to form a band, and thus Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band was formed.

The band released a now legendary 7″ and a 12″ on Telle Records which was followed by great reviews from magazines and DJs around Europe, including Dimitri From Paris, who included the track “Nikita” on one of his Playboy Mansion compilations.

In 2002, they were signed by the U.S. label Emperor Norton Records, and they released A Special EP. The album, A Special Album followed one year later, featuring the tracks “Casino” and “Think Twice,” which both became hits in clubs across Europe and huge commercial hits in Norway.

Gold records & Norwegian Grammy nominations were happily celebrated as well as long tours around the world – showcasing their famous live show, that includes ferocious live beats, audience participation and all the arena rock aesthetics you can mix with the most danceable music in the world.

The heavy tour schedule earned them a name as one of the most exciting live acts in the world – and they played main stages at rock festival, pure electro festivals and even jazz festivals – no one could stop rocking out to RMJHB!!

In 2005, the album, Your New Best Friends, followed, which received massive reviews in Europe, and relentless touring followed – to bigger crowds around Europe.

The third album, Sharp Knives & Loaded Guns, was released on EMI in 2006 followed by more touring throughout Europe – playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Montreal Jazz Festival, Reading/Leeds, Roskilde and many, many more.

in 2009, the band went on hiatus – with the two founders finding time to do other stuff;

DJ Ralph Myerz released his Norwegian Grammy winning solo record Super Sonic Pulse (with guest apperances by Snoop Dogg and George Clinton), while drummer Tarjei Strom became a radio/TV-personality in Norway, but still rocking the drums with acts like Datarock, Ylvis (“What Does The Fox Say”), Maria Mena, Turbonegro, Kaizers Orchestra +++.

But in 2015, the boys FINALLY decided to awake the monster that is RMJHB again, and went on a highly successful festival tour of Norway – headlining some of the biggest festivals, to rave reviews and audience feedback!!

Their 2003 debut “A Special Album” also reached platinum status in sales during this tour – in this day and age, a true testament to the longevity of the band.

Now in 2017, RMJHB return with their first new music in over ten years with the track: “Midnight Magic.”
